Wednesday is your say on next year's budget. Milton's Fiscal Year 2027 budget gets its first presentation and its public hearing at the same Council meeting on Wednesday, September 9, at 6 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The budget takes effect October 1, and the adoption vote is expected at the September 21 meeting. Wednesday is the part where residents speak.

Deputy City Manager Bernadette Harvill has presented the draft three times since July. She has flagged three things that could still move the numbers: the millage rate, which gets its own hearings and depends on a Fulton County tax digest that is not final; whether voters approve another round of TSPLOST in November; and a pay study comparing city salaries with neighboring jurisdictions.

The same meeting takes a public hearing on amendments to the current year's budget, the one that ends September 30. Both are first presentations, so Wednesday is comment, not the vote.
