Milton's police blotter, mapped
Where the calls were. The police and fire calls The Roundabout has printed, placed on a map of Milton, Georgia. Each circle is about half a mile across and sits near the call, never on it. A dispatch call is a report, not a finding, and that is how we write it.
Circles show an area, not an address. We print streets, not house numbers, and no names. The calls come from dispatch radio traffic and are checked before they run. Tap a circle, or an item below, to see what we printed.
Wednesday, Sept. 16
- Crabapple Road near Broadwell Road, 6:26 p.m. A customer at Peace Love and Pizza, angry that his order had taken more than an hour, threatened the staff, left, and kept it up by phone. Police were called. Our publisher was in line for a pizza and saw it. Issue #59
- Rucker Road near Charlotte Drive, Alpharetta, 5:54 p.m. Police were sent to a home for a reported attempted break-in, with glass broken. The caller described a bearded man with a backpack. Issue #59
- Providence Road near Freemanville Road, 2:53 p.m. Police were called to The Union after a woman of about 80 was found outside, lost, in a flowered blouse. Issue #59

How The Blotter works
The Blotter runs every Tuesday in The Roundabout. We listen to the same dispatch traffic anyone with a scanner can hear, sort it, check what needs checking, and print the calls worth knowing about in plain sentences. Some calls fall just over the line in Alpharetta, and we say so when they do.
