Privacy Policy
Effective August 19, 2026
Your privacy matters to us. The Roundabout is published by Hivetivity Inc. ("we," "us," "our"), a newsletter covering local news in Milton, Georgia. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
What we collect
When you subscribe to The Roundabout, we collect your email address. That's it. We do not require your name, street address, phone number, or any other personal information to receive the newsletter.
If you contact us by email (tips, corrections, sponsorship inquiries), we retain the contents of that correspondence.
How we use your information
- To send you The Roundabout newsletter on our regular publishing schedule (currently Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings)
- To respond to emails you send us
- To understand aggregate readership trends (open rates, click rates) so we can improve the newsletter
We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes. We will never spam you.
Email service provider
We use MailerLite to manage our subscriber list and send emails. When you subscribe, your email address is stored on MailerLite's servers. MailerLite's privacy policy is available at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy.
MailerLite uses tracking pixels and link tracking to measure email opens and clicks. This data is collected in aggregate and helps us understand which stories matter most to our readers. You can disable image loading in your email client to prevent open tracking.
Website analytics and cookies
Our website at readroundabout.com is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect basic analytics data (page views, country-level visitor counts) through its infrastructure.
We use Google Analytics
to understand how the site is read: which pages are visited, roughly
where visitors come from, and what kind of device they use. Google
Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and processes usage
data on Google's servers under
Google's privacy policy.
We use this in aggregate to learn what coverage matters to Milton;
we do not use it to identify individual readers. You can opt out with
the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser.
Beyond that, our own cookies are functional: essential cookies required for basic site features, and a reader-recognition cookie set when you arrive from a link in our newsletter so the site can skip subscribe prompts you do not need. We do not use cookies for advertising, retargeting, or behavioral tracking, and we do not run advertising trackers on our site.
Third-party links
Our newsletter and website contain links to external sites (city government pages, news sources, social media). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Data retention
We retain your email address for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from our active mailing list. MailerLite may retain unsubscribe records to ensure we don't accidentally re-add you.
Your rights
- Unsubscribe at any time — every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom
- Request deletion — email hello@readroundabout.com and we'll remove your data
- Request a copy — email us and we'll tell you what information we have on file for you
Children's privacy
The Roundabout is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has subscribed, contact us and we will remove their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the newsletter after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
