Self - Defense Classes
Presented by Mighty Hands Foundation, join us for a monthly one-hour self-defense class designed for community participants ages 12 and older. Each session introduces fundamental Gracie Jiu-Jitsu–based techniques, including practical escapes from common holds such as trap and roll, grip breaks, standing escapes, and defensive positioning. Instruction focuses on awareness, prevention, and practical responses to real-world situations, all taught in a safe, supportive, and controlled environment. Whether you’re new to self-defense or looking to build confidence and skills, this class provides valuable tools to help you stay prepared and empowered.
Babysitter Boot camp
Babysitter Boot Camp provides soon-to-be-babysitters with everything they need to find gainful babysitting jobs by marketing themselves in a professional and productive manner. Participants in the workshop will create their own flyers and begin planning business cards, client interviews and entertainment options for children. Participants will learn to watch out for safety issues and deal with fussy children. New babysitters will become comfortable in dealing with basic first aid and keeping children safe during an emergency.

Music Together
Join Ms. Meghan from Music in The Beat Hive this fall for weekly 45 minute family music classes! Over the next 8 weeks in Music Together Mixed-Age Classes, kids ages 0 through 5 and the grownups who love them® will gather for fun-filled family music time. Ms. Meghan will lead you and the other families in singing, dancing and playing with music activities ranging from lullabies to full-on jam sessions (with child-friendly instruments, of course). It’s so much fun you won’t realize how much learning is taking place! One of the goals of Music in The Beat Hive Music Together classes is to help cultivate a joy for music making by encouraging families to continue to play musically outside of class. Continuing the music-making at home helps nurture each child’s musical development. In support of that effort, each family will receive access to music recordings (through an app or CD), an illustrated song book, and a variety of other printed and digital resources, as well as inspiration for engaging with music outside of class. Like parenting, making music doesn’t require any previous experience or expertise, just a willingness to get down on the floor, be silly, and have fun with the music! Our relaxed, no-pressure environment lets all kids learn at their own pace and experience music in a way that works best for them. Mixed-Age classes provide a focus on community so children can learn alongside their siblings, and meet and learn from new friends who may be older or younger than them. Music Together® is an early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age five—and the grownups who love them!® We’re on a mission to make the world a better place by making it more musical™. We do this by providing the highest-quality music and movement classes to families everywhere. Our classes help little ones develop their innate musicality and much, much more. In our research-based classes, children naturally learn how to sing in tune and keep a beat. Active music-making creates unique connections in the brain that support children’s language, social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
